About PlayWager (Formally PlayMyWorld Online)

Play Wager is a blog all about betting and gambling online, bringing you hot off the press news, reviewing the latest games and showcasing the best offers up for grabs on the web. And, unlike many other sites that push you to sign up with bookies in the hopes of sharing in your losses, we’re totally independent.

The Play Wager Team

Play Wager Team (PlayMyWorld)

Here’s a quick run down of the team:

Mark – For horse racing, Mark is our go to guy. He covers racing news and tips, as well as general news from the betting world and a smattering from other sports. Mark also covers racing promotions and offers. Every now and again he dabbles in the casino, but mainly when he thinks he has an edge (which he rarely does).

Steve – Steve is to football as Mark is to horse racing. He covers the bulk of our football content, as well as dipping into other sports such as snooker and F1. Steve is also our general gambler, covering roulette, blackjack and any other game that involves casino chips.

Sam – For slots, that’s Sam’s domain. Keeping an eagle eye on the new releases, Sam tests the slots that look good and slates the games that fall flat. Just please don’t let them get them started on their rant about low effort branded slot skins.

The Blog Formally Known as PlayMyWorld Online & Take Bet

PlayMyWorld Online LogoWhilst Play Wager has been around for a few years, it has actually existed for much longer than that. In fact, the site you see today is the result of a merger of two sites: PlayMyWorld and Take Bet. Steve and Mark originally ran the two sites separately, before joining forces under a new name and bringing Sam on board to round out the casino side of things.

So why Play Wager? It’s intended to be a sort of portmanteau of the two previous site names, to give a nod to their origin. Except Mark & Steve though that neither “Play My Bet” or “Take My World” make any kind of sense, nor did the shortened versions of “Play Bet” or “Take World”.

As a compromise, “Bet” was switched with “Wager” and here we are: PlayWager.

And if you don’t like it, don’t worry. They’re already arguing over the next potential name.
